Wentworth Institute of TECHNOLOGY

Checking your class schedule is easy at Wentworth Institute of Technology. So easy in fact, I’ve decided to share this web experience with you.

Step One: go to http://lconnect.wit.edu
Step one to log into Wentworth Lconnect

Step Two: Be told that Firefox is out of date because this web application is using some new crazy technologies that your browser may not be able to support like “javascript, cookies and java”.
Sungard does a horrible job managing Wentworth Institute of Technology

Step Three: Click continue to go to the ‘real login page’, which if you note is ipsca.com secured. Solamente el mejor para Wentworth.

Step Four: Click Leopardweb-Banner (whatever the hell that means! More confusion to the end user than anything IMHO).
Click the Leopardweb-Banner - Purposely designed as a play on words

Step Five: LOL
I guess they call this middleware

Step Six: Click Student and Finical Aid
Student and Finanical Aid… Sure they go together, why?

Step Seven: Click Registration
Almost there!

Step Eight: Your choice. ‘Week at a Glance’ or ‘Student Detail Schedule’. H3LL Y34H B0Y, TH4T’5 L337! I hope my browser can support the technologies that are able to give me two options on how to view my schedule O.o.

So, do think your school can top this?

One of these a day to keep the stress away

I’ve talked about mind overflow before. You know the stuff that your brain wants to remember but it can’t because you’re trying to focus on too much information at once and it stresses you out because you forget some things and blah blah blah? If this sounds at all familiar to you, check out my makeshift solution that’s sort of a precursor to TSO which I haven’t gotten developed yet.

I take a 5×8in piece of paper and fold it in half then in half again to make myself a little ‘book’.

Piece of 5×8in paper folded in half then half again

Then I label the sections (imagine pages 1,2,3,4) as ‘todo’, blank, ‘ideas’, ‘remember’ respectively.

TODO List

Ideas

Remember

I do this because to me, TODO is the most important (front), then Remember (back), then ideas (inside right), then blank space for who knows what (inside left). If I ever run out of space, I have the whol inside to use, wheee! So all day, I just have this with a pen in my pocket and write down / cross out whatever I need.

To manage my mind overflow further, I use a three ring binder to manage the overflow of the 5×8 overflow so I can move todos, ideas, remembers and whatever else to new days without losing track.

Entrecard - Introducing Stores

Entrecard, Personal, The Internet 3 Comments »

Entrecard has announced it’s addition of the ‘Store’ module which uses EC credits as currency. Currently, Entrecard is the only seller, offering a few things to promote your blog faster but they are planning on giving users seller status in the future. If I were to have a store it would benefit both Entrecard any myself as I would offer not only adspace on my blog but quality reviews and business card redesigns.

A rough idea of what I would sell:

- 20 Card Redesigns at 400 Credits a pop
- Quality reviews at 500 credits a pop (a note about this, by quality, I mean in my writing. If your site sucks, I’ll say so. I’m not going to help promote internet garbage.)
- Ad space on my blog, 2 weeks for 2500 credits / 1 month for 4000
- T-shirts with on line creative says fresh out a book of ideas I’ve been compiling for a few months… the price of these is undetermined at this moment.

If you aren’t familiar with entrecard, check it out below.

Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas Eve and Happy Holidays to all. I hope you are enjoying time with loved ones and family. On my time off I’ve been doing a little research. I’m trying to learn more about 3d modeling so I can create more than just maps for the great game, Nexuiz. I’ve been dabbling in Blender 3d, which I came across some some awesome video tutorials. You can check out those Awesome Blender 3d Video Tutorials Here. This kid is really good at breaking down the tools and usage of the program.

I’ve also just finished writing a basic tutorial on map making for Nexuiz. I’ll be back post Christmas with some more application how-tos and such. Happy Holidays!

My friend is making a movie for a free open-source first person shoot (FPS) we like to play from time to time. Much like the video below… except, this guy knows what he’s doing ;).

Today I designed some graphics for him to use in the movie.

It should be out in a few weeks. I’ll be sure to post information about it here for those interested.

Paint the Place - Lets Recap

I’ve been quite busy recently, doing work for my company, VGO Software who specialize writing code to accelerate development. Our two big products are Evo which converts Oracle® Forms to Java and Rev, a database-driven Java code generator for the enterprise. They are one of two companies certified by Oracle® to convert to Java, which is pretty cool.

But back on track, I’ve been doing work for them in preparation for Oracle Open World. Which I had the honor to design a few things for. Such as:

VGO Software - Nintendo Wii Flyer

I’ve also had my hands in XEPIC, which Jimbo and I are proud to release a new beta release which has laid the ground work for the soon to come 1.0.

I’ve updated parts of my portfolio, gotten my hands dirty in the world of mapping and started an online community.

In my free time, I paint:
